What do you compare your body to?

 

 J'ai un malin plaisir à comparer mon corps à toutes sortes de gros objets pour rendre les gens mal à l'aise, c'est sûrement un moyen de défense. Mais si j'y pense bien je pourrais dire que je suis un mélange de plusieurs objets, une statue de bronze pour sa force et sa robustesse, une tournesol pour la façon dont il nourrit les gens, les animaux et la terre qui l'entoure, à une toile d'un artiste avec mes tatouages significatifs et représentatifs et pour mon originalité.. et je pourrais continuer pendant longtemps comme ça.

I like to compare my body to different big objects, it might be as a defense mecanism to make people uncomfortable. But if I do think about it, I am a mixture of so many objects. A bronze statue for it's force, a sunflower for it's way or taking care of the world, a canvas, for my body is a work of art filled with it's particularities and originality, and I could go on.

Why did you want to participate in this project?

Si une seule femme ronde se sent plus belle, plus sexy aujourd'hui, j'ai atteint mon but. Dans un monde parfait, toutes les femmes se trouveraient belles. Parfois c'est dans la courbe d'un sein, un autre moment dans la forme d'une jambe. La beauté est partout.

If one BBW feels more beautiful or sexy today, I've obtained my goal. In a perfect world, every women sees beauty in herself. Sometimes it's in the curve of a breast, at other times it's in the shape of your legs. Beauty is everywhere.

Intimidation

Au départ, j'allais vous mettre une réponse de notre modèle à l'une des questions. Mais la vérité c'est qu'elle est plus qu'une modèle, elle est très impliqué au niveau du projet et est l'une des photographes qui travaille souvent avec Engel.

Puis ce shoot il est venu chercher l'enfant ou l'adolescente dodue en nous le temps d'un après midi.

Je vous met en contexte, nous étions 5 femmes rondes chez moi, en plus d'un ami photographe qui travaille aussi avec nous puis nous avons commencé à parler des mots qui nous ont blessé étant plus jeune. Au début c'était humoristique, on en riait bien, puis chacune de nous s'est rappelé LE mot qui tue, celui qui blessait au plus profond du coeur. Et Engel à eu envie de faire un shoot "réparateur" du style, aujourd'hui je suis forte et j'ai confiance en moi et personne ne peut me blesser.

At first I wanted to add the answer to one of the questions to these photos but this particular model is more to Drama Curves. She is very involved and works very closely with Engel.

Also, this photoshoot brought back memories of the hurt child or teenager inside of all the fatties.

to put you in context, last week end we where 5 fatties and one of our dude friends at my house for different shoots when we started to talk about all the words we heard as kids or even young adults. Some where so funny we just had to laugh it off. But then every one of us started talking about THE word, the one that feels like a knife true your heart. Engel had the idea to do a shoot about it, something like what hurt us then only made us grow as stronger adults.

Mon corps n'est que l'enveloppe dans laquelle je vis, je l'aime comme il est car il me permet de réaliser de belles et grandes choses.


My body is only the envelop I live in. I love it the way it is because it allows me to realize big and amazing things.
